With e-commerce increasingly channeling through more than a single online storefront, many business owners are discovering challenges with managing all their product data within the various marketplaces they use. The missing piece of the puzzle for many is synchronization. This can come in many different forms but two-way synchronization is the holy grail from an inventory management perspective. Granting users the ability to update products and inventory levels across multiple online storefronts easily makes for a unified inventory system.
Magento, WooCommerce, and X-Cart storefront users already enjoy full two-way synchronization when integrating with Zenventory. An example of how this can be a major benefit: A store owner receives an order for one widget through their WooCommerce marketplace, which shows the item as “in stock.” Let’s assume they have only one in stock. When the order is fulfilled in Zenventory, we reduce the in-stock quantity from one to zero until more product arrives for replenishment. Since Zenventory serves as the central inventory management system, and it is fully synchronized to all of your marketplaces, the new inventory level of “zero” is transmitted automatically out to each one. This allows the marketplaces to begin applying whatever logic they normally do in an “out of stock” situation: allowing a back order, disallowing the order, or even hiding it from the product catalog until stock is replenished. Either way, the customer stays informed and the store owner doesn’t find themselves in the nasty position of trying to fill an order for an item they do not have.
We know there are a lot of marketplaces out there, and our development team is staying busy building new integrations all the time. Check back soon for announcements as more are added! Want to learn more about Zenventory’s growing capabilities? Contact a Zenventory Zensei to schedule your demo.
